Activities

„Good. Adaptation, improvisation. But your weakness is not your technique.“

I am focused on finding the best context for my creativity. For me, to be creative means to engaged in interdisciplinary activities. Reaching out beyond – not removing – borders provides me with the necessary material to misunderstand. I just need to be brave enough to appropriate it in the face of approximate knowledge but clear intentions. Click on the symbols (triangle, circle, frame) above to find out more about my activities.

I see the distinction between theory and practice as made by instrumental intention to manufacture life. It provides me with considerable but limited analytic-technological value of dealing with systemic environments in the secured conditions of a laboratory.

To my understanding the human condition means meeting our needs under the conditions of an unbalanced equation. It comprises individual autonomy and social control on the one side and available resources and individual dependency on the other side:

autonomy/control = resources/dependency

The equation is unbalanced because my access to resources is limited (and more often denied than we like to admit it); the same is my capacity to escape from the impeding effects of social settings (control).

I deem it more appropriate to distinguish between three modes of action, which try to manipulate the variables in the equation in a specific way in order to raise its general value. They refer to the political-economic, the socio-cultural and the institutional sphere. Each of these modes has its strength, enables us to achieve something in a certain time frame: it also shows specific weaknesses, which refer to the strengths of the other modes.

To be the author of the master copy of my life I need to acquire a systemic position myself, which enables me to integrate these various modes of action and apply them the right way, the right time, with the right people.
